NASHVILLE, TN-folk singer, Joshua Quimby, independently released his debut album, Joshua Quimby, on April 22nd across all platforms.
While Quimby isn’t a stranger to the Nashville music scene, ‘Joshua Quimby’ is the singer-songwriter’s first full-length LP while only releasing music for just two years. In comparison to the small-town Connecticut native’s initial release EP, ‘Relentless’, ‘Joshua Quimby’ shows Quimby’s artistic growth over the past two years. With the opening track, ‘Ticket to Hartford’, Quimby turns the pain of long-distance love into what can only be described as a Tennessee honey-coated waltz.
Tracks like ‘To the Choir’ and ‘What’s a Man to Do’ highlight Quimby’s signature resonator guitar, the unique sound that his 38k TikTok followers can’t seem to get enough of. As someone who’s picky about country and bluegrass music, ‘Joshua Quimby’ has a mental hold on me the same way a good book does: you can’t put it away. So, if you’re looking for an album that pairs well with summer campfires and storytelling, this is the record for you.

‘Joshua Quimby’ was promptly followed by a release show at The End with supporting acts like Liam St. John and Andrew Montana on April 27th. The coziness of the venue paired with the warm energy of all of the artists who took the stage made it the perfect atmosphere for the record to be debuted live.
Quimby has a backing band that records and performs with him, as well. Supported by Elliot Prather (mandolin and backing vocals), Christian Starrett (acoustic guitar), Zach Bunton (fiddle), and Max Baker (upright bass/background vocals), Joshua Quimby packs a punch at every one of his live shows. While in conversation with Quimby, he’s mentioned that his debut record was recorded live which is why it sounds so seamless from Spotify to the stage.

ABOUT JOSHUA QUIMBY
Joshua Quimby is a 21-year-old self-described “folk singer and songster” from small-town Connecticut. Quimby moved to Nashville in 2019 to attend Belmont University and pursue a career in music, with his growing more and more. His presence and success on TikTok have helped him gain traction outside of the Nashville scene and have landed him on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds Folk’ playlist. If you enjoy Billy Strings, Johnny Cash, and/or Bob Dylan, you’ll be sure to fall in love with Joshua Quimby.
Make sure you check out Joshua's next show at The End in Nashville on June 24th!
